By using GeneInformed’s content, you accept our Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy. If you do not want to be bound by GeneInformed’s Privacy Policy or Terms and Conditions, your only remedy is to stop using any of GeneInformed’s contents.

Information sharing 

Geneinformed does not share your genetic information, or your personal identification details.

Use of genetic information

GeneInformed uses your genetic data to provide you with the genetic analysis services that you purchase from the company.

Di-identified genetic information may also be used for internal research. All details may be used in an unidentified, aggregated and anonymous form for internal quality control, as well as statistical and epidemiological research.

However, by customer request, all personal and/or genetic data and analysis will be permanently erased. Request shall be sent by email to support@geneinformed.com. 

Customers take full responsibility if they themselves share their own genetic Information and analysis with others.

Use of identifying details

We collect information entered by the user such as name, email and address, to be used for communication and delivering your genetic analysis. We may collect information that you have volunteered to fill in surveys.

 

Your report can be anonymous. Before completing your purchase, you are asked to choose whether your name will appear on your report.

Storage of personal information

​

Your raw genetic data and analysis report are stored locally, on a hard-drive. These files hold no identifying personal details other than an accession code. The list of accession codes and identifying details is kept separately, and encrypted. 

Your genetic data is received either by a secured Google mail service, or through secured Dropbox file storage system. We download your file from the Dropbox cloud and delete its cloud copy.

Your analysis report is kept locally, and sent to you by secured Google mail services.

Collection of User information

We use Site User information for the following purposes:

To improve customer service.
To more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs.
To personalize User experience.
To understand how our Users as a group use the Site.
To improve the Site.
To process transactions.
To administer content, promotions, surveys or other Site features.
To send Users information that they agree to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.
To send periodic emails.

Upon your request, we will cease sending any emails and information that you are not interested in.

Web browser cookies

Our site may use “cookies” to enhance user experience. A user’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. How do we store, use, share and disclose your site visitors' information?

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your user data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. For the avoidance of doubt, Your genetic information is never stored on Wix.com.
All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

We do not deliver your personal details or report results to other entities. However, if you have purchased our service through a third party, you allow the parties to exchange information needed to provide you with the product that you have purchased. Third party privacy policy may revoke this privacy policy document.
